Q&A: WHY ARE FLIGHTS TO VEGAS SO EXPENSIVE RIGHT NOW?

Question by Moxie1313:
Why are flights to Vegas so costly right now?

Everyone keeps telling me(including travel books) that flights to Vegas aren’t supposed to be that expensive. So how com ethey’re running around 0 p/p, r/t from Boston now? Less than a month ago a friend got the same tickets for 0(I know prices can and do change, but this seems ridiculous). Anyone I speak to who’s gone to Vegas lately states the prices are way out of control. Any ideas why?
I’m actually looking for tickets for Sept, flying out on a Monday and back on a Thursday. It sucks, with prices this high, we cannot afford to go. :(
I’ve checked all sites(travelocity, expedia, orbitz) as well as directly checking airline sites. Oh well. :(

CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND THE BEST DEALS IN VEGAS RIGHT NOW FOR POKER PLAYERS?

I’m looking for a room at an upscale hotel on the strip (Bellagio, Venetian, Encore, Caesar’s, etc.) in October and I am a poker player. I plan on playing a lot of poker and I know there are deals if you commit to a certain number of hours per day of play.

Can anyone advocate the ideal deal for one of the hotels mentioned above and include the specifics (price per night and hours of play)?

Thanks!

WHERE IS THE BEST DEAL IN TOWN IN LAS VEGAS TO BUY A USED CAR RIGHT NOW? ANY IDEAS?

Im turning in my Lease this month and have to purchase and I do not think I want to purchase new. Any ideas for used other than Carmax?

POPULAR VEGAS HOTELS: RIGHT NEAR THE STRIP

If you want to enjoy the excitement of Las Vegas without the hassle of massive crowds, you should think about staying in a hotel that is off the strip. There are many excellent hotels in Las Vegas that aren’t on the strip, most with casinos.

Emerald Suites Cameron is located across from the Orleans Hotel Casino and Arena and just one mile from the strip. There is a heated pool and a spa. A complimentary coffee lobby is provided and there is a laundry in case you decide to stay that extra day. Emerald Suites Cameron is a nice hotel at a reasonable price.

If you are looking for a historical location, you should try the Las Vegas Hotel Club. It was established in the early 1900s. It is located in the largest gambling mall in the world. It offers several restaurants as well as an ice cream and coffee parlor. Friendly service is a specialty of this full service casino hotel.

The Horseshoe Hotel Las Vegas is only 10 miles from the airport. It is also located near several other casinos, to give you a wider variety in gaming options. The Horseshoe is a landmark and is considered the first hotel to offer something other than sawdust floors and the ambience they created. Guest rooms are cozy and there are plenty of amenities. There is a superb view of Las Vegas from the outdoor pool on the 25th floor.

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino offers rooms and suites. If money is no problem, you might want to try the Penthouse. It has three massive bedrooms, a dining table that seats 12, and the lounge has a stocked bar and pool table. If you need a room that is a bit more affordable, the guest rooms are quite spacious. Each room has French doors that offer views of the pool or the mountains.

Arizona Charlies offers round the clock gaming, entertainment and dining. There are several dining options available, whether you want a romantic dinner or a traditional family-style meal. There is also a fabulous pool in a luxuriously landscaped courtyard.

All of the above listed hotels are within simple driving distance of the strip, just in case you want to visit. Whatever kind of experience you might want, there is a Las Vegas Hotel off the strip that is just right for you.
