Why are flights to Vegas so expensive right now?
Everyone keeps telling me(including travel books) that flights to Vegas aren’t supposed to be that expensive. So how com ethey’re running around $300 p/p, r/t from Boston now? Less than a month ago a friend got the same tickets for $200(I know prices can and do change, but this seems ridiculous). Anyone I talk to who’s gone to Vegas lately says the prices are way out of control. Any ideas why?
I’m actually looking for tickets for Sept, flying out on a Monday and back on a Thursday. It sucks, with prices this high, we can’t afford to go. 
I’ve checked all sites(travelocity, expedia, orbitz) as well as directly checking airline sites. Oh well.
