Query by shtler:
How far is the stroll from the Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas to the MGM Monorail?
I want to remain at the Excalibur in Las Vegas, but it looks like a stroll to get to the Monorail station at MGM Grand. Does anyone know how far of a stroll it is or if it really is worth the inconvenience of staying at Excalibur? It says it is an eight minute walk according to google maps.

——————————————

Answer by Melissa
Exacalibur is just across the street, on the opposite corner, from MGM. I haven’t produced that walk, but I do not assume it would be more than 8 minutes. That sounds correct.

Solution by Firesauce
You need to cross above two pedestrian walkways that go more than the streets and then have to stroll although the MGM casino floor and part of the MGM shops to get the the Monorail.

It will take about 15 minutes.

Solution by Bobby
Beginning from the front door of the Excalibur to the spot exactly where you’d be waiting for the monorail, I’d say 15 – 20 min, assuming you don’t get lost.

JMHO but there are greater hotels similarly priced……

Answer by JebMaster
The Excalibur is positioned in the opening of The Strip from the South following to the Luxor and across from the MGM.

Question by Chao:
Is there a shuttle service from Excalibur hotel in Vegas to LAS? Where & how do I reserve? What’s the cost?
I am going to Vegas for the first time. How do I get from the Excalibur hotel to the McCarran Int’l Airport? Is it better to take a taxi or a shuttle? How significantly will a taxi ride to the airport price me? Is it more affordable to take a shuttle instead? And exactly where do I go to get a taxi or shuttle ride? Thanks.

——————————————

Answer by tonalc1
Excalibur doesn’t have their personal shuttle service, but they can assist you arrange for one.

They cost about $ six.50, cabs are about $ 10 plus tip.

Answer by Bobby B
There are no shuttles operating from LAS to Excalibur. The cheapest way I have discovered is to take CAT (Citizens Area Transit It should price you $ 1.25 but there is a transfer involved. Verify the transit map
http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/cat.html

Answer by jack
Info on all LV public transportation

http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/transportation.cfm

This is the official website of the LV taxi authority

http://www.taxi.state.nv.us/faresfees.htm

there is a chart showing the fare from McCarran to the different hotels.
>If you arrive during the day you can count on at least an hour wait in line for a taxi, on a busy Fri/Sat or throughout a special occasion that can effortlessly stretch to more than two hrs. The only time there isn’t a lengthy wait is among Midnight and 6am.

“Bobby B” gave you the CAT bus which IMO is typically the greatest way to go, each in terms of time and price. Even though it will either cost you $ 2.50 or $ three the CAT bus no longer concerns transfers they promote a 24hr pass for $ two.50 and if you use the Deuce they charge you an further .50c and situation you yet another 24hr pass.
>The #108 or #109 will quit about every single six minutes. If you take the #108 or #109 North you will need to have to transfer to the #201 West Tropicana which will stop correct across the street from Excalibur. You could also take the #109 South out to the SSTT then transfer to the Deuce, which will take you down LV Blvd S(strip) and cease across the street from Excalibur. >Either way will take you less than 1/two hour from McCarran.
>You can ride the bus so prolonged as you travel light(carry on luggage only)

~Jack~

——————————————
I am taking a brief holiday to Vegas with two youngsters and want to use the monorail…I consider we are staying at the Excalibur. How far of a walk is it from that hotel to the commence of the monorail at the MGM?

——————————————

Answer by NAOMI L
i would say 20- 30 mins. thinking about you have to walk via the resorts to get to the monorail.

Answer by wordstock16
Excalibur is kitty-corner from the MGM Grand. There are walkways that cross the street and the monorail is in the back of the MGM Grand. We do it all the time with a 2nd grader. It’s not a bad walk. Quit in the MGM Grand on your way to the back to see the lions.

Answer by The Fred
I agree with the 20 to 30 minute estimate. It looks like a short distance on the map, but the reality is that it takes longer than it looks.

My family is planning a trip to Vegas at the beginning of August. There will be 4 adults, one teen, and one older teen. We are looking for cheap places to stay on the Strip that have theming, and we’ve narrowed it down to Circus Circus and Excalibur.

Circus circus has all the circus shows for free, plus the Adventuredome that’s attached, but Excalibur is closer to the other hotels on the Strip. (we plan on visiting and walking around all the other casinos)

Your opinions?

My girls are ages 12 and 15 and we will be spending 3 nights in Vegas. Many reviews of Circus Circus and Excalibur say they are more kid friendly but they are cheap and dirty. What is a nicer hotel on the strip that is still appropriate for teens?
Any OTHER hotels besides the ones I have mentioned?

Answer by Chip O
Excalibur, it’s has better rooms, in a better location on the strip, better pool, if you book using their discount codes you can get 2 for 1 deals at Mid way Fairway and also Adventuredome. You will want your kids around other kids and an environment where they can be themselves

There are many New Orleans Hotels but for a Boutique Hotel in the very heart of New Orleans there is one that holds a higher standard, The Bienville House on the edge of the French Quarter. It is a very distinctive property with style and grace.

The Bienville House has all of the unique elegance of a French Quarter Manor. A crystal blue pool is surrounded by a flagstone courtyard and is overlooked by many of the room’s wrought iron balconies. There are four sundecks for you to relax and savor the ambience.

This lovely hotel started as a grain warehouse but it has gone through many manifestations since then to become the boutique hotel it is today.

In the beginning it was Planter’s Rice Mill, then Thompson’s Rice Mill and Southern Syrup Manufacturing. Then, in 1985, the building was completely transformed into the North American Hotel. The original advertising stated it was a delightful summer residence for Ladies and Gentlemen. Unfortunately the hotels owners went their separate ways and the building was divided into a boarder’s hotel and a fire house. Then it was converted to 20 luxury apartments and started the rival of Decatur Street. In 1972, after surviving a fire from across the street, it was purchased by the Monteleone Family.

The location of the Bienville hotel on Decatur Street mixes the old and new of the charming French Quarter. With its lovely wrought iron balconies this intimate property is the closest to the French Quarter and therefore many attractions are close by. Some of them include Aquarium of the Americas, Canal Place Shopping Center (including Saks Fifth Avenue and Brooks Brothers), Woldenberg Park, IMAX Theater and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. From this New Orleans hotel you can be spellbound by the stars at the Hard Rock Café while still enjoying the historic French quarter with it’s many famous eateries and scenery.

From this splendid location you can find antique shops, New Orleans’s signature Jazz Clubs, famous restaurants, beautiful historic buildings, voodoo shops, museums, the wharf and more. Just blocks from the exciting 24 hour Bourbon Street, you can find spectacular antiques and art galleries on Royal Street.

AAA has awarded it the coveted Three Diamond title and the Bienville is a member of the Historic Hotels of America. This boutique hotel consistently works hard to go beyond the standards that are demanded of that title.

They have a restaurant, the Louisiana Heritage Café that also serves as a school of cooking. In its casual setting it offers seafood, pasta, soup and salads in the New Orleans tradition. Some of Chef Faroldi’s dishes include Seafood Beignets with Remoulade Sauce, Blackened Catfish topped with Crawfish Etouffée and the famous “Rajun Cajun” Omelets. It is located on the first floor of the hotel and serves three meals a day.

The culinary lessons at the Louisiana Heritage Café can be for individuals or groups. Anyone can attend these lessons. The delicious fare is typically Cajun and Creole and while the chef is preparing the dishes he offers historic stories that will compliment his presentation.

For the business person Bienville House Hotel has a charming space for small meetings or parties for up to 100 guests. In the board room, which will hold 12, you can see the historic roots of this New Orleans Hotel in the exposed brick from the 1800′s. Within this board room you will find all of the amenities, like a wireless internet, and a wide range of AV equipment. The Vieux Carre room has 1,318 square feet available for larger meetings. All catering needs will be met by the staff at the Louisiana Heritage Café.

After your business meetings, the location of the Bienville House will delight your fellow attendees. With attractions like Bourbon Street, Jax Brewery, Jackson Square, the Mississippi Riverfront, Harrah’s Casino and the Canal Street and St Charles Avenue Streetcar lines your peers will have plenty of things to occupy them. With it’s proximity to New Orleans Central Business district the Bienville House Hotel’s prestigious address it’s a natural for any business person.

They have what they call The Corporate Executive Option to give all business travelers a satisfying experience. Then, after a successful day, the business traveler is mere steps from the city’s greatest restaurants, jazz establishments and shops. This plan offers the best rates with superior accommodations and many amenities. In your room you will find plenty of space to work with large desks, phones with data ports and cable TV. Included in this option is express check-in and check-out. You can count on the staff’s support to help arrange a small meeting or a corporate reception. You couldn’t do better than these elegant surroundings with state of the art equipment.
