Any advice for Vegas vacation in a week?
I am going to Vegas Sat. March 3-Wed. March 7. Does anyone have any advice on how to have a good time on a limited budget? For example, how to get free/discounted stuff.
Popular Vegas Hotels: Right Near the Strip
If you want to enjoy the excitement of Las Vegas without the hassle of huge crowds, you should consider staying in a hotel that is off the strip. There are many excellent hotels in Las Vegas that aren’t on the strip, most with casinos.
Emerald Suites Cameron is located across from the Orleans Hotel Casino and Arena and just one mile from the strip. There is a heated pool and a spa. A complimentary coffee lobby is provided and there is a laundry in case you decide to stay that extra day. Emerald Suites Cameron is a nice hotel at a reasonable price.
If you are looking for a historical location, you should try the Las Vegas Hotel Club. It was established in the early 1900s. It is located in the largest gambling mall in the world. It offers several restaurants as well as an ice cream and coffee parlor. Friendly service is a specialty of this full service casino hotel.
The Horseshoe Hotel Las Vegas is only 10 miles from the airport. It is also located near several other casinos, to give you a wider variety in gaming options. The Horseshoe is a landmark and is considered the first hotel to offer something other than sawdust floors and the ambience they created. Guest rooms are cozy and there are plenty of amenities. There is a superb view of Las Vegas from the outdoor pool on the 25th floor.
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino offers rooms and suites. If money is no problem, you might want to try the Penthouse. It has three large bedrooms, a dining table that seats 12, and the lounge has a stocked bar and pool table. If you need a room that is a bit more affordable, the guest rooms are quite spacious. Each room has French doors that offer views of the pool or the mountains.
Arizona Charlies offers round the clock gaming, entertainment and dining. There are several dining options available, whether you want a romantic dinner or a traditional family-style meal. There is also a fabulous pool in a luxuriously landscaped courtyard.
All of the above listed hotels are within easy driving distance of the strip, just in case you want to visit. Whatever kind of experience you may want, there is a Las Vegas Hotel off the strip that is just right for you.

Only Virgin and BMI fly direct to Las Vegas from the UK, but is there any plans for any other airlines such as the American ones to start going direct?

Can anyone tell me a little about Las Vegas Casino Security (Suits)?
They say that uniformed casino security in Las Vegas is at the bottom of the pay scale. Although not sure what that bottom salary is, I know I may have to work my way up, but what about the security in suits, the ones that make the tackles and apprehend people? What is their salary like? Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of these salaries?
