Question by midniteeye:
how cheap are the day of event ticket brokers in las vegas, in terms of % discount off face value?
i have a free day to kill at las vegas this sunday, and according to many answers here i can buy bargain day of event tickets at a certain discount broker near mgm.
does anyone know what kind of discount we are talking about off the face value of the ticket? 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and i guess i am probably going too far.
any help would be very appreicated.

you can get most all shows in vegas half price at the half price tix booths…there is one next to MGM by the M&M store…..also theres always free tix on vegas.com…or you can always hit a timeshare tour for an hour ans get all kinds of stuff free!!

From what I recall, those ticket places do 50% off face value, but the shows they have are usually not the best (i.e. don’t think you’re going to get Cirque du Soleil tix or anything like that) … usually when you sign up for the ‘rewards’ card at the different casinos, they’ll give you a coupon book, so that’s another way to get some discounts. Also, you can try to win tickets to something by spinning the wheel in front of the Tropicana.

As another poster stated the 1/2 price ticket locations are 50% off of the face value. The normally have a good selection of shows if you get there befor they open. I think they open at 10am, you will want to get in line as soon as you can.
They don’t know what show tickets they have until the day of the show. Some days the selection is good, some days might be a bit less. But, shows in vegas are mostly good and entertaining and I have only been to one bad one in all my visits and that was Louie Anderson
And I’ve been to a lot of shows, one every night when I go.
If this is your first visit, I’d suggest trying to go to a Vegas production show…you have to see one in your life. Even if you can’t get half price tickets.
Jubilee is an example.

There are all kinds of ticket brokers along the strip with different offers. Most of the time you can get nearly 50% off the face value of the ticket. I’ve gotten as much as 25% off the face value, which I supoose was a bargain considering the show I saw. Also bear in mind, the hotter the show and the newer it is, the less you’ll save. There is a ticket vendor located between MGM Grand and Planet Holloywood that is reliable. Have fun.
