Is Las Vegas cheap to rent near the strip?
My job may lead me out there to get an apartment 20 mins. or less from Circus Circus. My budget is 0-800 bucks. So, Is Las Vegas cheap to rent near the strip?

Near the strip is cheap but not really desirable. For that price you could get a one bedroom in the Lakes area which is nice and less than 20 min right up W. Sahara. There are a lot of condos for rent in the Lakes area. Most apartments here are condos and not apartments like other places of the country. The further from the strip the better the location. Go west, south or southwest.
Here is a good page to read about moving to Vegas. Since you have a job lined up it would be well worth your wild.

It really depends on what you are looking for; although I don’t know that you would want to live that close to the strip. I would recommend booking a hotel on http://www.lasvegashotels.com/ for a few days first so you can get a feel for the area–see what you like and don’t like before you have to sign a lease.

Cheap yes, desirable NO. Go to http://www.lasvegasnow.com which is channel TV 8s web site for ideas on rentals. Definitely you don’t want zip 89109. The best is 89117 but not sure what rentals are these days in that area.
Who is this job lead? A local? A realtor in Vegas? And why 20 minutes? You have a car because bus system is not that great.

Yeah, the stuff near the strip is cheap, but in Vegas, you get what you pay for. It’s CRAPPY. If you want something affordable, look a little west or east of the strip. Summerlin will most likely be too exp. for you, so I’d recommend looking on the Henderson/LV border. 800 is rather low for Vegas apts, but many people are running deals right now to get people to rent. I’d tell ya to pick up an apartment guide when you get here, or search around online.
