Need to Fly to Las Vegas from Orange County Cheap!?

Orange County is not very far from Las Vegas. I need to fly there this Thursday and return on Saturday. Tickets are $159 each way! I thought Southwest was the cheapest! I have looked at a bunch of sites and the prices all hover around $350.
How can I either get a cheap flight on short notice. Are there stand-by seats or anything like that. I plan on catching the 930pm flight.

Airfare almost always goes UP in price the closer you get to your date of departure. Two days before you’re leaving is a bad time to buy tickets if you want them cheap. Southwest is among the lower cost airlines, you’d do well to book the $159.00 tickets now before they go up again.

Since you are flying in less than 14 days, airfare is going to be high. I would think that $159 each way is actually reasonable because the airfare could be much higher. Pay the $159 now or the price will go higher the longer you wait.
