go to priceline.com is you willing to be flexible on departure and return times, this is the best option. What I would do is search to see what an average price of a ticket is. Then put in a bid WAY lower to see if anyone bites. If someone doesnt match your bid, they will give you the lowest possible option (which includes the fees)
Example: I wanted to go to Florida from Minneapolis, and I wanted to leave in 2 days – I thought tickets would be rediculous. I went on priceline – the average price for a a ticket was 260. I thought that was decent – but for giggles I put in a bid for $150. Midwest Airlines came back with a $178 ticket which totaled 217 with fees. The original ticket was $500 because of the short notice and its an all first class carrier (who also bakes homemade chocolate chip cookies on board – YUM!)
