Yes! Once the flight is 15 minutes into duration at its highest altitude, the flight attendant will give the ok to turn on all electronic devices except for Cell Phones unless they have Airplane Mode enabled for music purposes only. The flight attendant will then ask 15 minutes before arriving at your airport or your connecting airport to turn off all electronic devices as the plane is descending.

This is to show respect to the flight attendant and everyone on the plane.

I know its a myth that "Electronics and Cell Phones can cause the plane to crash if the plane is ascending or decending" but no one can prove to the FAA or the US Government that its safe to use your cell phone at 40,000 feet up or playing your electronics before 15 minutes into your flight and under 15 minutes until you arrive. Everyone who have tried this have been arrested for disobeying an flight attendants order and also putting other passengers into harm.
