They usually charge a flat rate for later check out. It’s like $20 or something, at least it is at Excalibur, I’m not sure how the others are. But I would assume they have similar policies.

I am curious if you just want the room to sit around in for 5 hours or are you planning on doing more sight seeing. If you are just looking for a place to harbor your luggage in most cases the casino that you are staying with will hold it down stairs by the valet stations, some properties will even send a person to retrieve your luggage for you, all you have to do is make a call.
Some charge a rate to stay but if you are a decent client of a certain hotel and have spent money there, they may bend the rules for you in a pinch.
As far as extending your stay, that probably depends on what day you are leaving, and again which casino you are at, if you have been a good customer(meaning you have spent a lot on your players card), they might just let you stay until your departure time, I would call or visit the valet area at the property you are staying at.

It more than likely won’t be for free – it can run anywhere up to 50% of the room rate. What you do is ask about late check out – it may be at 3pm though. Each hotel has different rules.
Also – if you’re checking out on a day that’s full for arrivals, they may not allow late check out, or they’ll make the fee VERY high. If you’re checking out on a slower day, it might be for free, but it just might be cheaper.

I agree with the other answers. The best thing to do is ask for a late check out. I have never been denied, usually we get to stay until 1:00. It is important to communicate with the concierge, you will get all your questions answered. And like the others said, lots of factors come into play. Good luck.

Nothing in any hotel is ever “free”, it’s either included with the rate you are paying for the room or it’s a separate charge. Late check-out is almost never included.

You could get drunk and pass out in the bathtub on the date of your departure. Oh, make sure you set the alarm for 5pm.

When we want a late checkout, we ask our host and they set it up for us(no charge). Usually each hotel has a standard late checkout and that may be anywhere from 3pm-5pm.
You can always drop your bags at the bell desk and pick them up before you leave for the airport.
If your departure is Sunday through Thursday you would probably have no problem getting a late checkout. Friday and Saturday are going to be a lot tougher, they need those rooms on Fri/Sat night because they are booked solid.
If you play a little bit and use your slot club card. It’s a good idea to introduce yourself to a slot host. They are the ones that take care of special requests such as this one.
