If you want shade you can pay a premium for a Cabana by the pool, and Mandalay Bay, Wynn, Bellagio all have great cabanas that are fun to rent! http://www.bestofvegas.com/bestof/bestvegaspools/ The Wynn pool does get a lot of shade thanks to the tall buildings near by. Also you can go later in the day when the sun is not high in the sky. The pools in Vegas are normally designed to recieve a lot of sun. The best pools in Vegas are Mandalay, MGM and Flamingo. I personally like MGM there is 5 pools, 3 hot tubs and a lazy river.
