Looking to go to Vegas in April or May. I can’t seem to find a good deal…?
Me and the wife go to Vegas once a year, usually a 3 night deal.
I usually get a hotel and flight package. Used to pay like $400 for each of us, but now I can’t seem to find anything under $1,000.

Go to expedia, travelocity, cheaptickets.com, orbitz. They usually have package deals. We were looking for a long weekend in May and found a trip for two for three nights plus airfare for just under $450 per person and we are flying in from Michigan. Just look around….you will find something!

Did you try Southwest.com. They have package deals right now (I think it might expire this week though) It offers 2 cirque del soeil tickets and a $50 off coupon. I am new to this Q&A thing so I am not sure if you are from St Louis also or where you will be flying from. But I have found the cheapest rate so far there and those are non-stop flights. Hopefully this helps! I actually just got done posting a question just like this!
I believe also on expedia they are offering a $50 off coupon code.(that also still includes the tickets to cirque de soeil) I don’t know the code offhand, I have it written down somewhere. This made the trip cheaper but the flight home had one stop in Los Angeles. I have just been searching online for different promotional codes.

I would definitely recommend starting with kayak to get an idea of what flight rates are going for. As far as hotels; a lot of times you can get the best rates directly from the hotel websites. Especially in this economy, many hotels are offering great deals. Also try Exedia, Travelocity, etc. I used Travelocity to book round trip air plus 3 nights at MGM Grand for 208 p/p (granted im flying out of L.A. so airfare was pretty cheap), nevertheless i was on these websites every day for about a month until I found this deal. You’d be surprised how much rates change on a daily basis.

Well times have changed. I don’t know where you are traveling from so I can’t help there. If you are staying on a weekend you will pay a much higher price than weekday. Airline prices for Fridays, Sundays and Mondays are higher than the other days. You may have to switch your days to get better prices. Take into consideration that April and May are the busy season here in that the weather is near perfect.

Thats surprsing, because right now everything is DIRT CHEAP in Vegas.
Remember that April/May is probably the most expensive time of year in Vegas. So I dont know if you have gone other times of year in the past, but typically its quite a bit higher that time of year.

I just booked from Detroit to Vegas at the end of may. non stop for 229 a person! Its a great deal and I got it from US airways. Try travelzoo.com for deals on flights also from what I heard the best days to book are tuesday and wednesday, especially in the late evening. Good luck!
