I always wanted to plan a vacation to Las vegas but i have a problem with flying in planes?

i need advice or other suggestions.

Interesting trip would be by train to L.A. (closest train service to Vegas, so shortest bus ride) and then bus to Vegas. Train to Salt Lake City, UT and then bus to Vegas would also be a nice trip, but the bus ride would take almost an entire day.

Only ways into Vegas are by highway or air.
