I plan on going to Vegas weekend after new years. The hotel I’m looking into is Caesars palace. Will I still be able to book a hotel room with just a check card, or would I need a major credit card?

You can use your card if it has a Visa or Mastercard emblem on it. If it does not then you can not book a room.

You will be charged your first night immediately when you book. So if you are money tight now, then you need someone else to book the room. Plus, they will place a hold on the debit card which may cause you to be overextended when in reality you are not.

A check card is no guarantee of paymet so casino/hotels want a credit card or cash. Yes you need a credit card

If it is a check card affiliated with Mastercard or Visa, then you can use it. But if not, you’ll need to use an actual credit card.

Just as everyone has said…. If your name is printed on it and it has a visa or mastercard logo you are fine….. But one thing you need to know is you need to have at least one night stay and tax and resort fees in the account…. This will cover your deposit and if you choose to pay cash at check out you will have that option… You should check with the hotel because deposits vary…. Best thing is to just have the entire amount in th account…
Also…. Whoever books the room has to be there for check-in…. So dont use a credit card of someone who will not be there to check in…. you will loose your reservation….
Hope this helps

Most casino you will need a Major Credit Card too book a room, some hotels may take it but they will require a $300 hold on the card if anything happens to the room on your check card compared to a mastercard or visa they will usually hold $100 for any accidents that may happen in the room, not saying you will do anything but thats is standard with the casino these days.. I would just call and ask the casino you’re planning on staying at.
