You can actually get great deal at hotels right on the strip. Check out the MGM Grand, Monte Carlo & the Luxor they have great deals for October. Book early.

If you want to do it on the cheap, forget the Strip. Stay at the Golden Nugget downtown. Right now it’s $49 a night, and if you call and mention this promotion, your third night is free. The rooms are just as nice as Monte Carlo on the Strip. The pool is unbelievable, and the spa is just as nice as one on the Strip, but the services cost half as much.
Besides the room cost being reasonable, the food is so much cheaper and easier to access downtown. They have just about everything at the Golden Nugget, too, from a decent buffet to a sushi bar to a sit-down Italian place. Plus you’re within walking distance to about 8 other hotel-casinos.

I’ve stayed at Monte Carlo and I didn’t care for the room… it’s basically a shoe box… being a Steve Wynn property; I suspect the poster who said that about Golden Nugget meant some other property?
Anyway… in my opinion Wynn and Encore are the only two strip resorts where you’d be treated like royalty.
No place will treat you like royalty for cheap. Mandalay Bay is probably the best value for the dollar you can get on the strip.

I would book as soon as you can in order to get the best price. MGM, Luxor and Excalibur have very good offers. Check also http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com for the latest codes in order to save money.

You can get really cheap hotel rooms at 4 or 5 star hotels at the last minute especially if the hotels are not fully booked.

Royalty for Cheap. I like that. But to the Hotels you are just one of millions of visitors. The better the resort the better you will be treated.
My suggestions are Skylofts at MGM Grand and Four Seasons or The Hotel. Cheap nope! Four Seasons is running a Promotion for a 3rd night free. Very upscale.
