I’m planning to go to Las Vegas the first week of August.

Mandalay Bay’s standard room is called 550 DR and it is 550 square feet. Their rooms are $80/night during the first week of August.
Luxor’s Pyramid deluxe room is slightly less at 429 square feet. It is $45/night during the first week of August.
MGM Grand’s Grand Tower room is 446 square feet and it is $59/night during the first week of August.
Just search the hotel deals in the website above and when you find a room you like, you will find the best price.

I’m not positive of the square footage, but the Venetian standard rooms are quite large. Each comes with a sunken living room off of the bedroom.

MGM and Mandalay have rooms with around 500 square feets. Because you are going in August I would also recommend these hotels because of their nice pools (in August it will be very hot and you can then relax at the pools). Regarding the price: You get the best price if you book directly with your desired hotel. In addition you can use a promotion code from http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com in order to lower the price.
