Need advice on which Las Vegas hotel to choose?
Planning a trip to Las Vegas on November and I can’t decide which hotel to choose. Any advice? I need a hotel that is close to the attractions, shows since I won’t be renting a car.

As long as your hotel is on the Vegas strip, you will be fine. To get around, get a 24hr Bus pass on the deuce.
Check rates at MGM Grand, Excalibur, Monte Carlo, Luxor, Flamingo and the Mirage.

For November Excalibur usually has some great deals. You can check on this site for some great deals. Another great hotel would be the Flamingo which is right in the middle of the strip.

Most of them are on the bus route. Treasure Island is a mid-priced hotel in good shape that is incredibly convenient.

Shows are up and down the strip. Rivierra has the Russian Ice Skaters. That you need busfare or taxi money or monorail funds.
The main shows are at MGM, and Planet Hollywood about a mile apart.
Lookup the shows you want to see and plan accordingly.

look for anything that is on the strip. DONT get anything north of the Wynn (Circus Circus, Saraha, Riviera)!! To much walking invovled if you are gonna stay there. They strip is wayyy bigger then most people think. I personally love the MGM. I’ve never had a bad experience there. The rooms are a little bit more but worth it( about $100 a night averg.) The cheapest places on the strip would be Harrahs, Ballys, Flamingo, Excalibur, Luxor, TI.

It’s hard to give good advice without an idea of your budget. But it’s easy to get around the strip, either by walking, using the monorail, taking the bus, or catching a taxi. Every hotel has plenty to do in and around it.
The center strip area is really convenient because you can easily get to the ends if you need to, and there is a lot going on in that area. Flamingo is a nice place with a lot of good deals, and it’s location is great. Some other reasonably priced hotels in that area are Ballys and Harrah’s. Bellagio is there, and is beautiful but very expensive. Caeasars is there and is kind of in the middle – pricey, but not nearly as expenisve as Bellagio. Very nice place too.
Near that area is Mirage, Treasure Island, and Venetian/Palazzo, all nice places. Venetian/Palazzo is another high-end place.
Luxor and Monte Carlo are more toward the south end of the strip, but have been advertising rates as low as $39 a night. MGM and Mandalay are also really nice and in that area.
Stay away from Impreial Palace, Riviera, Sahara, Stratosphere, and Circus Circus.

Choose a hotel directly located on the Blvd. – Monte Carlo, MGM Grand, Mirage or TI e.g. are very nice hotels close to many attractions and shows. Before you book check http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com – you will find there the latest promotion code offers for various Las Vegas hotels.

Your best choice would be center strip then. Check out the MGM Grand, Treasure Island, Monte Carlo then are all in the center and good value for the money. Here is a link to some discount codes: http://www.smartervegas.com/hotels.aspx

Without a car I would pick something directly on the tram line unless you want to spend a fortune on cabs. the MGM Grand, Bally’s/Paris, Harrahs come to mind. Picking one on the tram line and buying a multi-day pass will make it easy to get anywhere on the strip you want to buy. The problem with Caesars, Mirage, NYNY, Mandalay Bay is they are across the street from the tram and I don’t like the bus.

I love the Venetian. Second fave is Mandalay Bay. Venetian has Phantom, Jersey boys, the Palazzo Shoppes. The Grand Canal Shoppes. Bouchon Restaurant. Valentino. B&B Ristorante, Ranch Canyon Spa. Five Diamond Rating. Italian marbled floors. And a spectacular hallway that takes you to the front desk and concierge. I have stayed at the Renaissance Suite many times, and would reccomend it to anyone.

Caesar;s. Its in the middle. Across the street is the Imperial, if you are looking for cheap and somewhat clean. Depends how much time your going to spend where–room, shows, gambling. Stay out of the old downtown unless your carrying at least a 45.

do not stay at the flamingo…it’s filthy unless you like your comforter to have skid marks on them and carpets so dirty you black socks turn color…no joke…the pool area isn’t even nice…the web picture is totally different than the ones you get shoved into regardless of the price…. depending on where you want to stay on the strip we have stayed at the luxor, mirage, bally’s, ti, harrah’s all are decent and clean…have fun….
