A weekend is going to get you a more expensive rate. Hotels that are $ 30-$ 50 per night during the week can go up to $ 150+ per night on the weekends. Here are some rates for decent hotels next weekend.
Hotel Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun
Excalibur- $ 45/ $ 85/ $ 150/ $ 110
Flamingo- $ 49/ $ 69/ $ 189/ $ 139
Luxor- $ 55/ $ 89/ $ 160/ $ 111
Mandalay Bay- $ 160/ $ 150/ $ 250/ $ 140
MGM Grand- $ 100/ $ 180/ $ 185/ $ 150
Mirage- $ 139/ $ 169/ $ 189/ $ 299
Planet Hollywood- $ 100/ $ 160/ $ 220/ $ 220
Treasure Island- $ 100/ $ 150/ $ 150/ $ 280
I think there must be something going on next weekend as some of the rooms are sold out or are really expensive for Sunday night. Keep in mind resort fees, which are about $ 15-$ 22 per night depending on the hotel. The only ones listed above that do not have resort fees are Flamingo and Planet Hollywood. The nicest out of the group would be Mandalay Bay and then Mirage. But all of them will give you decent rooms and you don’t really spend too much time in your room anyway. If you look at Excalibur, look at their Widescreen rooms and not their Standard rooms. There is a BIG difference.
Hope this helps and Good luck!

What is your first consideration?
A good hotel that is inexpensive and on the Strip, would be the Rodeway Inn Convention Center
http://tinyurl.com/3d885da (please note that the price here is for the two nights and already includes tax, while in some other sites it is before tax or per night)
Don’t expect anything fancy though. It is certainly not “the best hotel in Las Vegas”, but rather the “best inexpensive hotel on the Strip”.
For something a bit fancier, try the Mandalay Bay or the Hilton Grand Vacations Suites on the Las Vegas Strip http://tinyurl.com/3tx9g3w

I would recommend the Flamingo. It is dead center on the center of the strip. A 15 minute walk to MGM and the wynn. Next to a Monorail stop and in close proximity to many of the hot spots.
Be sure to get the GO Rooms. They are decked out in hot pink and white, have flat screen TVs, and one in the bathroom mirror, motorized window shades, 70′s lights above the bed and just all the round hipness. even a stereo system to hoop up your ipods to blast ‘girls just wanna have fun’ or ‘uptown girl’ before heading out. They run from about 70 and up depending on night. Plus, the pool area is one of the better ones on the strip without a fee to get in.

Inexpensive is not the term for a Strip hotel. I would say look at Monte Carlo or Excalibur for the best price

Flamingo
New York New York
We stayed at the Flamingo from 8/29/10 – 9/1/10. The room was $ 50.00 a night. The breakfast buffet in the morning and the dinner buffet in the evening at the Paradise Garden Buffet Restaurant was excellent. Every one who works at the Flamingo was very nice, friendly and helpful.
