My job may lead me out there to get an apartment 20 mins. or less from Circus Circus. My budget is 0-800 bucks. So, Is Las Vegas cheap to rent near the strip?

You do not want to live near the strip. Behind the strip are little run down ghetto motels infested with crackheads, prostitutes, and people you don’t want to know. If you don’t care, then yeah, you can get something for CHEAP near the strip, but safety should be a concern of yours. Stay away from the Nellis area in the east and parts of North Las Vegas.

You definitely want to Stay as far from the Strip as possible and mostly toward the West. Interstate 15 works like a barrier keeping the riff-raft contained on that side. North and East are pretty bad and there is nothing South of the Strip for miles.

There are nice places on the strip, but they are probably out your price range.
Avoid the area just north of the strip. I would say it would be worth to you to live 15 mins away to be in a nicer area, with better rent.

Twenty minutes from the Strip is a nice distance. I live at THE LAKES which is 20 minutes or just over 8 miles from the Sahara Hotel. I would not live by the Strip but look at a better neighborhood; too many transient rooms in those apartments near the Strip.
