The Luxor is a really neat theme hotel on the strip. You can get a room right in the Pyramid which is cool. It has an egyptian theme to it. New York New York is another ideal choice. They have a huge Coney Island type arcade on the second level which is always packed with kids. Don’t forget about their roller coaster. Lots of fun!

Who is the vacation for, you and your wife or for the kids? I wouldn’t bring the kids to Vegas. They would prefer disneyland and make no bones about it if given their choice, which do you think they would prefer. You and your wife won’t have much of a time here with them.

I agree with the Luxor. The rates are great, you get lots of freebies and you can ride the free tram to Excalibur or Mandalay Bay.

This really depends, seriously Vegas was never meant to be a place for families but lately that’s been changing a bit. I don’t really know the ages of the children or if they like thrills or not. Would you have a car? What is your budget?
The stratosphere has some cool little roller coasters on top of the building that the children can enjoy depending on their age and it is not too far from circus circus which has the adventurdome but it is in NO way fancy or even in a great area of the strip.
The MGM has the lions and has all of those kids things near it like the MM shop and HUGE arcade for the kids. These rooms are a little bit better. The Luxor? Are you serious? There is next to nothing for kids to do there! It’s connected to Mandalay which also has nothing really for kids.
TI (treasure Island) has a cool little show and the rooms are reasonably priced. I don’t know if there is a place that really offers what you’re looking for here, YET.
You might just want to go with the Disneyland thing for now. Honestly, Vegas is for the party animals in the winter and I don’t really think kids can have a bunch of fun here. They can, but it requires a lot of back and forth.
If you still want to come to Vegas, I say the MGM. Its near all of the fun and action, the rooms are pretty nice and there is a lot for you and the wife.
But like I said, I’d say go to Disneyland I think they’ll like that better in the end.

A fancy hotel on the strip — Cesar’s Palace! It’s right in the middle of the strip & it’s beautiful!!! They’re service is so great there and the rooms are awesome! The last time my friends and I went, they upgraded our room for a low price to a 700+ sq. feet & we were greeted w/ chocolate covered strawberries, fresh fruit, cheese and crackers & bottled water. I looove Cesar’s Palace!
Other nice hotels I heard of are: Venetian, Palazzo, The Mirage, Treasure Island.
Don’t stay @ the Luxor, it’s too far from the strip… You’ll have to walk exteremly far or end up taking a taxi to get anywhere!
Your kids will LOVE it in Vegas! My 7 year old daughter LOVES going to Vegas… She’s always asking to go back! There’s more things to do than you think!

Go to Disneyland.. Vegas is not for kids.
People are hammered everywhere you go, even in “family” hotels. Not a great place for kids to be exposed to. I love Vegas as much as anyone, but I when I have kids I can assure you I will not be bringing them there. At least until they are teenagers.
Vegas is the one place left in America where you actually feel like you can do whatever you want. When you are surrounded by young kids, that feeling starts to change a little.

I would also choose Luxor or Excalibur. You can get some good room rates at these hotels. Before you go check the current hotel promotion codes on http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com in order to save some money.

Travelocity has a lot of great deals for Las Vegas right now. My recommendation would be the Hard Rock Hotel. Check out Travelocity’s deals here:

Yes, Stay away from Vegas with the kids. Its just not a place to take them for vacation. Go to Disney! They’re kids! Take your wife there another time by yourselves.
Every time I go, I see parents dragging their kids around Vegas past dudes handing out cards with ‘entertainers’ on them! I always wonder what got into their heads that Vegas is good for kids! Its gambling, smoking, drinking and sex sex sex!
Keep them away!
PS: The PS3 is money better spent. Plus its a blue ray player!

I think the New York or The Luxor would be good for kids. I used to love the Excalibur when I was little but it is pretty old now. When I used to go there I thought Vegas was totally fine, but now that I’m older I wonder why my parents let me go there. I guess it’s all about perspective but I’d say Disneyland is better for kids.

Definitely stay at the Ceaser’s Palace. There are 3D rides for the kids, a Cheescake Factory for the family to enjoy. Abercrombie/Hollister for the daughter/mom to shop, Nike store for the family, and a BIG BIG trojan horse shaped toy store that young kids would love. Not to mention the family pool that is also a family favourite and chocolates given by the ladies who clean the room. Everyday they would make your bed and leave you towels that are folded into bunnies and leave you good Ceaser’s Palace coin chocolates.
I was there as a kid..
However, compared to Disneyland..it is for sure “the Happiest Place on Earth” and a lot of Kodak moments can be obtained there. It always allows me to develop great memories on every trip I am at a Disneyland. Parents may not enjoy it that much but all kids LOVE disney. If your kids are old enough to have a descent memory…bring them to Disney, if they are like…younger that 8…I say Vegas..and go Disney when they will REMEMBER..because..Disney is a must go..so if they forget it in the future, they will ask you to go again…HAHAHA

Go to http://www.redweek.com or http://www.tug2.com or http://www.timeshareownerscommunity.com/ and rent a timeshare at the Polo Towers from an owner cheap. You can get a one bedroom with a sleeper sofa or a two bedroom with the sleeper sofa. You can sit in the living room and talk while the kids nap in the bedroom. You will get a beautiful apt with a kitchen so you can save money on meals, a low rate, a place with free valet parking on the strip between the Hard Rock and the MGM for a lot less than a hotel room and there is a half price ticket booth in front where you can buy tickets to shows for free. The website about the place is http://www.polotowers.com

My husband, son and i go to Vegas twice a year for my son’s kart racing events….Vegas is not a place i’d take my son on a family vacation. We make every attempt to limit his exposure to the street dwellers, drunks, prostitutes, gambling, crime, etc., while there…but hey, it’s Vegas! You can’t get away from it unless you are staying way off the strip at Sam’s Town with the senior crowd! My husband even had an attempt on his wallet there, too…so shouldn’t really suggest that place either. Go to Disneyland if it is a family trip with the kids.
