We will be in a Cab so i do not want to go too far off the beaten path but am willing to go a little ways out just because the last time we went the liquor store near the strip they wanted for a bottle of Grey Goose that i only pay for here at home. Do groceries stores sell hard liquor?

Yes, grocery stores sell hard liquor in Las Vegas. I’m not sure I’d spend the extra cab fare (or time) to stop on the way. I’d probably buy a small bottle at the hotel for the first night, then scout out a good store the next day.
My wife and I used to travel quite often, and, for trips of more than a few days, allocated a couple of hours to stock our hotel room. It makes the trip so much more pleasant.
If you can get to a Lee’s Liquors, you will find very good pricing combined with an excellent selection.
Have fun!

The best prices in town are at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino.
This is on Flamingo about 2 miles or less west of the Bellagio Hotel.
Very well-known for it’s great prices.
