Q&A: HOW TO ORDER LAS VEGAS CASINO CHIPS AND HAVE THEM SENT TO EUROPE?
Question by c_daburon:
How to order Las Vegas casino chips and have them sent to Europe?
Friends of mine are going to Las Vegas (and other US cities) for their honeymoon. As one of my weeding presents and some kind of contribution to their trip I thought it would be a good idea to give them some chips of one of the famous Las Vegas Casinos (Paris Las Vegas would be particularly great…). I checked some websites to see whether it is possible to order chips and have them shipped to Europe so that I have something to present on the wedding day, but, apparently, the hotels do not seem to offer such a service.
Any ideas how to get hold of chips? Thanks for your help.
I am in Austria, Europe and do not know anyone in Las Vegas. Even if it is not especially “practical” b/c one could lose the chips, I would still need the real ones – giving them a 200$ voucher (or cash…) which would not be “original” at all…

Gamblers General store on Main street in Las Vegas try google earth for exact location and info! Most real casino chips are collector items and sell for face value or more! so a .00 chip might cost .00
Gamblers store will make you chips and logo them for you
“Actual” used chips are not cheap!
If you know where they are staying you could call the casino and ask to talk to “Casino Host” or concierge.
Chips are only good at the casino that makes them so mailing them to you would only cost the casino money if they are not used!
Give them American express travel check card and tell them to use it in Vegas!

Either go there yourself, or have someone you know who lives in Vegas go get them.
Alternatively, you might be able to arrange a pre-paid line of gambling credit for your friends at the Paris, if that’s where they’re staying, and then present them with “phony” chips as the wedding gift, along with an explanation.
You’d have to talk to a casino host at the Paris to see if that could be arranged, but I think it should be possible, and probably better then actual chips, which could get lost, or forgotten.

Chips from LV stores are not usable in casinos. You could try to contact the casino directly but I doubt they would mail chips (security problems and legal issues).
I will call the Paris to see if they will accept a certified check from you for the benefit of your friend’s account and if they will send you a certificate of some sort (other than a note at the cage) – or you can email them yourself.
As suggested, contact a casino host, a credit manager, or the cage manager.

Added later:
Neither the Casino nor the cage can accept deposits for a person unless that person is in the casino to sign documents.
They can’t do this because of legal controls on publicly traded companies (probably Sarbanes-Oxley accounting laws or money laundering laws).

All casinos will sell you gift certificates, but they can’t be used to play at the tables or at the slot machines.
To get real chips you would have to contact the “CAGE” at the casino. They might sell you some but Nevada Gaming Regulations really don’t allow this.
You could also try eBay or getting someone that lives in Las Vegas to buy them for you.
Travelers Cheques always work too!
