Oh and have you ever booked a single room with two queen beds for four people to share in vegas? Is it frowned upon?

Try doing other enjoyable things while you’re there instead of just pressing a button, pulling a handle, or just throwing a stupid pair of dice.

Check the following sites: Southwest Airlines Vacations, Travelocity, priceline or US Airways. To book your room, go directly through the hotels using their promo codes. That will give you the best deals and freebies. Here are a few codes.

As far as occupancy is concerned, just book one room with 2 queen size beds and the four of you can share. You just have to tell them its for two people. The hotels usually don’t check and don’t care are long as the 4 of you keep the noise down.

If you are doing a package flight/hotel you are screwed.
The casinos will tell you when booking that there is an extra charge for more then 2 per room.
They know when guests check in and ask for additional keys due to absent mindedness someone ALWAYS forgets the key in the room, there is really more then 2 in the room.
When I have had more then the minimum 2 per room ther has never been an issue.

Why would a hotel care if four people want to share two beds IF you register them all?

Almost all hotels will allow 4 in a room with two beds however most on the strip will charge extra for more than two people. As its been said earlier if you say there are two of you and ask for 4 keys they will do this but technically you are breaking the law.
When are you planning to go that will have a baring in best rates

Four people in a two queen bed room is not frowned upon. You only have to pay an additional fee for the extra people, usually about $20 per night. That is one of the main reasons for having rooms with two double beds.
Go to the first link below and put your dates in on the top left (choose flight/hotel or hotel only) A list will appear with all the rates available. Make your selection.
Open a second window with the second link below. It shows PROMO codes. If the hotel you desire has a promotion going on copy the promo code and use it in the box provided when you book the rooms. If it is a valid code, you get the deal.

Go to http://www.sidestep.com … book air and hotel seperately. Usually this is less expensive anyways. Sidestep will check all the other travel sites for the best prices and does this at no charge to you. This will save you time and money. Orbitz, Travelocity etc … charge booking fees. When you get the prices you like .. try going directly to the sites of that airline and hotel and you will get an even better price. I do this all the time and you wouldn’t believe how much money I save.
When booking the room they ask how many and bed type. They usually don’t say anything when four or less are booking two queen beds in a room.

There is no one website that has the “Best Deals”.
The reality is the OWNER of the PROPERTY controls the pricing.
You can check a consolidator like:
Expedia.com
Hotels.com
Priceline.com
They buy blocks of rooms and then make their profit selling off those blocks from a pernegotiated rate. You may or may not find a better deal this way.
You can check the Airlines like who negotiate like the consolidators with certain hotels to do Packages.
Southwest Vacations
Funjet
You can check they guys who spend a fortune to be at the top of the Search Listings (But are really just brokering rooms for commission).
Las Vegas.com and Vegas.com (Same guys running both)
You can search online and find the same places over and over pitching the same stuff.
Bottom line is the best thing to do is a little of each. And let a Travel Agent do some of the work for you.
Booking Direct is almost always the best idea… HOWEVER you will find that sometimes the Resorts have special bundled promotions that are available only through Partner Sites (If you are already at their site they have little incentive to do anything more than try to book you at full rate).
So it’s really quite a game. When it’s all said and done the people who do their research tend to win.
Keep in mind there are only a couple big Travel Databases that everyone hits for quotes. But on the Front End there are 100′s of websites competing for piece of the commission pie.
Vegas Books about 100,000 rooms a DAY! So it’s worth chasing after the piece of the pie for most of them!
