How deep do the typical vegas casinos deal down to for a typical shoe blackjack game?
I’ve noticed that the blackjack shoes tend to have a slit on the side to help dealers figure out where to insert the colored card which indicates that they need to reshuffle. Does anyone know how deep into the shoe that slit is?

I have only seen the slotted discard trays on the 2 deck game. I can’t speak for the 6 or 8 deck games.
Most of the 2 deck games I have seen in Vegas will put the cut card around 55-60% through the entire 2 deck shoe.

I’m a dealer (not in Vegas though) and we’re instructed on an 8-deck game to cut somewhere roughly between 1 1/2 to 2 decks in. I think they’re likely more lenient in Vegas and might not cut that deep.
